Nostalgia

Who knows why we have such a strange connection to random material possessions or places. It is the memory that is attached to the item or place of which Nostalgia is born. I was always nostalgic even as teen I had a box full of Barbies that I absolutely would not let Mom sell Of course some how she did indeed get rid of them but often times I wonder if it wasent fot the maingy landlord that basically just threw out all my childhood notes and letters from when there were less technological ways of communicating I would have boxed and boxes of books letters and tons of scrappy art.I had all kinds of strange things that could be used as a sled just incase snow came and of course my own sled or disc shaped thing with handles on it. I could not quite understand the reason why older people had so much junk in their basement or attic. I Love the idea of going to the attic and getting out old clothes that were from another time or another generation. If I had an attic I would have to pack up the old fashons and label them 90's or 80's. Seeing all these old 80's clothes reminds me of the fugly color of appliances that we h had to live with for a very long time until the old Putrid green 60's colored carrots and the other things are not nostalgic the ones that just really setteled in for decades like hamburger helper YUK UM no NO more not ever no nostalgia and hell no to all those annoying keyboard sounds from the 80's. Someone save me. So there is no in between you either have a Pickers heart and soul or you don't. But some times we all just want to see that one comfortable thing or place that takes us back to day one. Scavenger hunts, McDonalds toys, treasure maps, hanging the tire swing by yourself. sliding down a mountain with your thick boots on and durt and dust trailing behind you. Moving around your furniture and not telling anyone. laughing sooo hard your stomach muscles hurt and your tears burn. Painting on the walls when MOM said UM NO When you have lost a lot of loved ones every little thing they loved becomes nostalgic. Past the point of pain there is where the nostalgia is born. Once your have built a little bridge in your heart and you have friends that tell you to breath JUST BREATHE JUST BREATHE like Mom used to say Take three deep breaths Some times you just cant tell people what is really on your mind because if you say it it will insite the tears that you can not stop What is nostalgia for you?
